How it works

Three steps, and we handle the paperwork

1

Free on-site measure

We walk the line with you, pull your plat to confirm setbacks and easements, and mark the layout in paint. About 30 minutes. No sales pitch.

2

Fixed written quote

Emailed within 24 hours, itemized by run, gate and post count. It is the price you pay — we eat the difference if we hit rock or a buried stump.

3

Install in 1–3 days

We file the 811 utility locate, pull the city permit, set posts 36 in deep in concrete below the frost line, and haul off the old fence the same day.

Service area

Central Ohio, within 45 minutes of Hilliard

Crews run out of one yard, so we stay tight to the metro. If your town is not listed, call — we will tell you straight whether we can get there.

Three quotes, and Ironwood was the only one who actually pulled our plat before pricing it. Turned out we owned six feet more than we thought.

They hit limestone on the back run and ate the extra hours exactly like they said they would. The quote was the invoice, to the dollar.

Handled the whole HOA submission for us. We signed one form. Fence went up two weeks later and the gates still swing true a year on.

Questions

What homeowners ask us first

Do I need a permit for a residential fence?

In most Central Ohio municipalities, yes — anything over 4 ft, and in some towns any fence at all. Dublin, Upper Arlington, Worthington and Westerville all require an approved application with a site plan. We prepare and file it, and the fee is already inside your quote.

How do we know exactly where the property line is?

We pull your recorded plat from the county auditor and locate the pins. If the pins are missing or the line is disputed with a neighbor, we will tell you before we quote — that is a job for a licensed surveyor, and we would rather you spend $500 there than $6,000 moving a fence later.

How long does a cedar fence actually last?

Western red cedar runs 15–20 years in this climate if you seal it in year one and re-coat every 3–4 years. Left bare it silvers within two seasons and you will see the first rot at the posts around year 12. Vinyl and aluminum sidestep the maintenance entirely, which is why they cost more up front.

Which side of the fence faces my neighbor?

Convention in Franklin County is the finished side faces out, posts and rails face in. Some HOA covenants require it. If you and your neighbor are splitting the cost we can build a good-neighbor panel that looks identical from both yards, which runs about 12% more.

Can you build on a slope?

Two ways. Racked, where the panel follows the ground in a smooth parallelogram and leaves no gaps — works up to about a 15% grade. Or stepped, where each panel stays level and steps down, which looks sharper but leaves triangular gaps at the bottom. We will show you both on site and tell you which your yard actually wants.

Will you deal with our HOA?

Yes. Send us your covenant documents and we will put together the submission packet — elevation drawings, material spec sheets, stain color and the site plan. You sign one form. We have been through the process with most of the large New Albany and Powell associations.
